The power of travel
I arrived in the welcoming community of Angola and received the gift of meeting new people and learning about their culture. The goal of my first trip to Africa was to get a taste of the African culture and break the stigma of Africa being a dangerous continent. Going into the trip, I did not expect to fall in love with the people and their lifestyle so quickly. Soon, I was visiting different African countries every year to make more connections and explore the grandness of this third-world continent. The people and Africa's beauty drew me into loving the continent, but it was the lack of acknowledgement farmers and families had for their hard work that made a lasting impact on me. At that point, I knew I had a chance to pursue my passion and promote something bigger than coffee: Diversity, Community & Equality through an African-culture-inspired lifestyle cafe & bar. - Charlene (Co-Founder & Owner)
